When it comes to crossovers, there are a lot of them available. In fact, there’s well over 100 different crossovers to choose from when you consider every automaker. That’s a lot of comparisons to have to do yourself. Let us help.
Today, we’re comparing the entry-level 2021 Jeep Compass Sport and the base trim 2021 Chevy Equinox L. In the table below, we compare the starting prices, performance specs, and fuel economy. Underneath that, we show you which features come standard on the Sport and what differentiates the two models. Which vehicle do you like better?

The 2021 Jeep Compass has lots of standard features. Each 2021 Compass Sport comes standard with the Uconnect infotainment system. It includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. It supports voice recognition, too. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo system, and two USB ports as well. It also has a few available add-ons, including GPS-linked navigation, remote start, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel.
The 2021 Compass has something that the 2021 Equinox can’t match: the Trailhawk trim. This trim adds multiple off-road features to 2021 Compass that make it stand head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. The Trailhawk trim gets the Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system with low-range gearing and a 20:1 crawl ratio, hill descent control, and the Selec-Terrain traction management system with snow, sand, mud, and rock modes. But that’s not all. It also gets an off-road suspension, extra skid plates, and two tow hooks. If you drive where conditions are bad or black top is scarce, then the 2021 Compass is for you.
