What Does Dodge Have in Store for First Responders?

It's no secret that it's important to keep first-response personnel well equipped in order to properly address any and all emergency situations. Of course, while we typically think of things like equipment and training, the right vehicles are, perhaps, the most important thing for our police, firefighters and EMTs. Knowing this, Dodge is preparing a new Special Services Vehicle from another model in its lineup.

Previously, Dodge has created a Pursuit version of its famous Charger sedan. Enhanced for police specifications, this vehicle is ready to hit the beat with style.

Today, however, Dodge is readying a different kind of Special Services Vehicle: one that can be used by every kind of first responder, to be more specific.

And what would that be? Dodge is currently developing a new SSV version of its recently redesigned Durango SUV. This move makes perfect sense to us because the Durango's large cargo area is perfect for storing equipment.

Of course, the big question on everyone's mind right now is what kind of enhancements will the Durango SSV feature? A few that have already come to light include more robust brakes, a load-leveling suspension and a more powerful amp.

And we're sure that's just scratching the surface. Further details regarding the Durango SSV are sure to surface soon, and we're sure it won't be much longer before we see our local first responders driving one.

If you're more interested in learning about the regular 2014 Dodge Durango, be sure to get in touch with our staff today. Our showroom is located in Granbury, TX and we'd love to get you behind the wheel of a new Durango today.
